Albert Hammond Jr. - “Yours to Keep” : Sentimentalist Magazine Review
Published on March 6, 2007 in CD Reviews
It’s a given that several songs (such as “In Transit,” “Everyone Gets a Star”) on Albert Hammond Jr.’s debut solo affair sound like The Strokes. He’s found a guitar sound that works for him, and on Yours to Keep that singular style is on full display, as are unexpected flourishes of humor, romance (”Scared”) and whimsy (”Holiday”). The album cover artwork even features three bunny rabbits. You can’t get more delightful or precious than that. –Carrie Alison
